Artificial Intelligence is all the rage today. We use it on our phones, to plan routes, students use it to write papers, people use it to write speeches, and countless other activities. It is becoming so common. We are sure that someone could develop a system where you input your personal information and it would produce a scripted ceremony. But would it be YOUR ceremony? We think not.
AI can be a valuable tool to aid the creative process. But, for those looking to experience something special, AI does not have the capability of delivering the human touch; that can only come from lived experience. Writing, especially creative writing, takes time and relatability.
A rite of passage ceremony, like a wedding, is about lifting-up and celebrating the passing of tests that have led to a sacred moment of pause. Similarly, a memorial ceremony is about pulling out, for all to see, the essence of the person who once lived. People who seek out a professional to preside over, or officiate their ceremonies are looking for someone who can distinguish and articulate their unique experience, in a way others (witnesses and guests) can relate. A cookie cutter, detached approach simply will not work.
This brings me to forthright self-promotion. GREAT Celebrations is known for putting together some of the best ceremonies in the area. With over 20 years of event planning and officiating experience, we are tried and true. If you are looking at GREAT Celebrations to perform your ceremony, our promise is to always provide you with a customized script that reflect who you are, and to perform it with personalized flair.
Do not get me wrong, technology has its place, but, at GREAT Celebrations, we will always take a classic approach to planning your celebration, providing you with the upmost quality that only an individualized touch can deliver. Our staff will meet, talk to you, and get to know you and your wishes for your celebration. We will communicate directly with you, and you with us. The GREAT Celebration Process is collaborative. This is what you can expect:
First, we meet with you to see if we are compatible and can work together.
Second, via a questionnaire, we gather information to gain a better understanding of who you are.
Third, we meet again to discuss what we gleaned from the questionnaire and share our ideas for your celebration.
Fourth, we begin writing your personal script for the celebration and submit it to you for review and approval.
Fifth, we make the changes that you desire.
Sixth, we rehearse the ceremony to ensure it comports the tone and meaning you intend.
Lastly, we perform the ceremony. And manage all the culmination items, such as making your marital union legal by signing your license and submitting it to the proper government office, as well as providing you a commemorative script of your service as a keepsake.
GREAT Celebrations believes that only through allowing the client to share in the telling of their story can we capture all the emotions and feelings needed to imagine, develop, and write the great ceremony they deserve.
Remember, when looking for someone who will give you the best ceremony, make sure they collaborate with you so that your ceremony reflects you and not some artificial version of yourselves.
